Share Your Celiac Story
I recently saw a post on the celiac listserv that caught my eye. It came from Vanessa Maltin at Healthcare for America Now. She is inviting people with celiac disease to share their story so that her team can advocate for changes to our current health care system to make it affordable and accessible for everyone.
If you have celiac disease and can answer yes to any of the following questions, Health Care for America Now would like to hear your story.
1.Did your insurance company deny coverage of a celiac blood test or endoscopy?
2.Have you gone to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription medication only to find out that it isn’t covered and going to cost you a fortune?
3.Would you like to see a dietitian for nutritional counseling but your insurance won’t cover it
and it is too expensive to pay for out of pocket?
4.Are you a medical professional and have a story to tell about your patients having trouble paying for care because of insurance issues?
Your story can help the health care reform team as they present this public policy issue to lawmakers and the media.
If you would like to share your story, please download the Share Your Story form.
Then email your responses to Vanessa at vanessa.maltin@gmail.com.
